Concrete Swimming Pool Maintenance Tips

Having a concrete swimming pool right at home is great — until it’s time to clean it. But cleaning and maintaining a pool doesn’t have to be something you dread. It is quite easy to keep your pool pristine if you know how to do it properly. Let Eco Pools teach you how.

To ensure that your pool is in its pristine condition always, keep in mind that it needs to be cleaned regularly. Using a handheld skimmer, remove any debris floating on the water’s surface whenever you can. This chore can be done daily if you live in an area with a lot of trees around. If you can, try to reach debris that has settled on the bottom of the pool, too. But if you’re tired of removing leaves and other debris from the water’s surface, then you might want to trim the plants and trees surrounding the area.

Use a long handheld brush to get rid of dirt and algae that are stuck on the walls and the bottom of the pool every week. You can also use this to clean the pool’s stairs, ladder, or slide. Use a pool vacuum to get rid of any debris that has settled on the bottom of the pool.

Swimming pool coping often becomes dirty and slippery with frequent use. Scrub it regularly to prevent it from becoming slippery, or apply a non-slip coating or put some pool mats on it to prevent any mishaps.

Check your pool’s chemistry regularly using test kits that you can purchase online. During summer, it is recommended that you check the chemistry at least twice a week. But you can reduce it to once a week or twice a month during cooler months.
